Juri Arisugawa

Juri is a skeptic and a rationalist, as well as a creature of infinite sadness. She once loved a girl named Shiori, but the girl betrayed her; she went off with a boy, and not just any boy, one that was interested in Juri. The orange-haired beauty was completely shattered by this...she would have given the boy to Shiori had Shiori but asked. Such was the power of Juri's love.

After the hurt, Juri's heart became dark and cold, lost to all feelings other than lonliness and pain. She wears a gold locket with a picture of Shiori inside, and to this day Shiori is her only weakness. Juri is angry at the girl for her betrayal, but she still believes Shiori is hers alone (much the same way that Saionji clings to Ancy). She remembers a time when Shiori told her, "Believe in miracles, that your wish might come true." and then handed her an orange rose.

Juri does not believe in miracles. She will not. She is logical and rational to the end. If miracles truly occured, Shiori would be hers, Juri thinks. She tries to hide her pain from the world, but when pain and anger builds up, it has a tendency to explode violently. This can be seen in that Juri is so vehemently against the very idea of magic and miracles that someone talking about them will send her into a screaming fit of rage.

Juri is the president of the Fencing Club at Ohtori Academy, and is possibly the most skilled duelist in the Student Council. Under normal circumstances, she might be unbeatable, but her lack of control and emotional instability, however, causes her downfall. Juri is a slave to her past, and until she figures out how to leave it behind her, she will never be whole.
